“In August of 2018, we vacationed with our children and their families at the WorldMark resort in St. George, Utah. We reserved four suites to room the 14 members of our family. The weather in St. George can be scorching this time of year, so my husband and I bought each of our family members a stainless-steel insulated water bottle to keep their ice water cold all day, a cooling towel, and dry packs to keep their belongings dry during our water activities.
The next eight days were spent doing various activities. We played at the pools at the resort, barbecued, played games (including Minute to Win It). We also exchanged white elephant gifts and spent lots of time laughing!
In Zion Canyon National Park, we hiked the Narrows — which includes hiking in water part of the time. There were hundreds of people doing the hike that day and we had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. We also went to Snow Canyon and played in the dunes, climbed on rock formations, played in the water at Sand Hallow, and used water toys such as kayaks and a Jet Ski.
Our family loves to visit historical sites and eat out at local restaurants that are more personable. We have found that St. George has a plethora of locations for us to enjoy these activities. With that, there are also numerous areas where one could ride ATV’s and other off-road vehicles. We were able to find a spot close to the resort where we could take our four-wheeler. Our children and grandchildren had a blast doing this.
One of the nights that we were there, we found ourselves relaxing and enjoying one of the most spectacular shows at the Tuacahn outdoor theatre. They have different productions each summer that you can choose from, each offering their own story surrounded by a live orchestra and special effects!
It is beautiful in St. George and we love the suites there. Because our children are living in various parts of the United States now, this is such an awesome way to bring everyone together at the suites they love! We were able to take family pictures together for the first time in forever as well as meet up with old family friends whom we had not seen for years.
The day we were leaving, we went to the new all-abilities park called Thunder Junction. The grandchildren loved it here. There is a train that you can ride with your family and we could barely get our grandson off it. We rode it 4 times together while the rest of the family played in other areas.
By getting the four suites, we could easily spend time together for the bulk of the days/evenings and then retire to our own places to put our children to bed and have some much-needed relaxation and privacy.
The resort, staff, and locations produced by WorldMark always exceed our expectations and we will continue to hold our family gatherings and reunions at their resorts. We are so grateful that they have created an environment for our family where we have made and will continue to make memories that will last a lifetime.”
